In 1909, Anglo-Irish explorer Ernest Shackleton and three companions marched across Antarctica, reaching 112 miles from the geographical South Pole before having to turn back. Their journey gave them a place in the record books for the farthest travel south at the time. Almost exactly 100 years after their attempt, Katie will be attempting to walk the final 112 miles to the South Pole to complete Shackleton’s unfinished journey.
At Baillie Gifford we very much believe in the importance of a child’s future and the role of financial education in this, so they can grow, develop and achieve their goals.
